In spectral testing, photoelectric detection, and material optical characterization experiments, the detectors often output weak signals of nanampere-level current and microvolt-level voltage. Ordinary acquisition cards have high noise and narrow measurement range, making it difficult to faithfully reproduce the real light intensity changes. If the signal acquisition process is distorted, the entire optical path will be wasted. The Sevan Optoelectronics 7IDA4 data acquisition device is specifically designed for weak light signal measurement. With 16-bit high-precision AD, dual-channel synchronous acquisition, and wide-range gain switching, it becomes a reliable digital bridge connecting the detector and the computer.
The 7IDA4 core is oriented towards weak signal measurement scenarios. It is equipped with high-performance operational amplifiers and 16-bit A/D converters, with a continuous sampling rate of up to 100kHz. It has a high dynamic range for signal acquisition and excellent measurement accuracy. It is equipped with 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128 times eight-step gain transformation. Users can flexibly switch the range according to the strength of the signal - for extremely weak current signals of picamper level, the amplification gain captures the effective changes; for strong voltage output, the gain is reduced to avoid saturation distortion. This device covers a wide range of measurement requirements from weak to conventional from the optical signal.
The product has dual input channels and can be independently set as a DC voltage input or DC current input mode. The current measurement range covers ±10pA to ±40µA, and the voltage measurement range is ±1µV to ±4V. It is compatible with various optical components such as silicon detectors, photodiodes, photomultiplier tubes, and lead sulfide detectors. The dual-channel architecture supports synchronous acquisition of reference channel and sample channel signals, facilitating real-time background noise subtraction and ratio measurement, thereby improving the signal-to-noise ratio and accuracy of spectral data.
In addition to high-precision signal acquisition, the 7IDA4 also integrates dual-channel D/A conversion output channels, with an output amplitude of 0 to 10V. The D/A conversion accuracy is also 16 bits, and it can be directly used to control monochromators for wavelength scanning, adjust the brightness of light sources, drive stage stages, etc., to achieve "acquisition + control" integrated closed-loop. It is equipped with one trigger input and one trigger output channel, supporting multi-device synchronous triggering, and is suitable for automated spectral scanning, sequence measurement, and other linked experimental scenarios.
At the interface level, it uses standard USB2.0 to connect to the computer, plug-and-play, without the need to open the chassis to install the board card. The device has an internal +5V DC power supply output, which can directly power external sensors, simplifying laboratory wiring. It is equipped with Sevan's dedicated acquisition software, with an intuitive operation interface, parameter settings, real-time waveform display, and data saving. It also supports secondary development in multiple development environments such as LabVIEW, VB, VC, and C#, making it convenient for users to integrate the acquisition module into custom automated testing systems.
The entire device weighs only 1.35kg. It has a portable aluminum alloy body design, which can be placed on the laboratory bench for fixed use or carried to different laboratories or field test sites. It is widely used in ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared spectral measurement, photodetector calibration, material transmittance and reflectance testing, fluorescence and Raman signal acquisition, photovoltaic cell I-V characteristic testing, weak light signal monitoring, etc., in scientific research and industrial detection scenarios.
As an important part of Sevan Optoelectronics' spectral testing ecosystem, the 7IDA4 can be seamlessly matched with monochromators, detectors, filter wheel sets, sample chambers, etc., quickly building a complete optical testing system. It can also be used independently as a weak signal acquisition front-end. With over twenty years of experience in optical instrument research and development, the hardware performance is stable, the supporting software and technical support response are efficient, making it a reliable choice for domestic weak signal acquisition solutions.
From pA-level current to V-level voltage, from high-speed sampling to synchronous triggering, the 7IDA4 data acquisition device, with its precise, wide-range and flexible acquisition capabilities, ensures that every faint light signal is faithfully recorded and every set of experimental data is true and reliable.
